In die-casting production, maintaining optimal casting conditions is an ongoing challenge for die-casting engineers. Apart from factors such as mold design and temperature control, the smooth operation of die-casting machine equipment also affects the quality of the produced products.

 

If the equipment does not undergo regular filter or hydraulic oil replacement, the deterioration of the hydraulic oil can lead to corrosion inside the pipes, resulting in debris or dust contamination. This, in turn, may cause leaks or movement obstacles in the die-casting equipment during operation. Over time, besides the inability to achieve the required operational accuracy and potential equipment damage, this is also one of the causes of die-casting defects.

Regularly replacing filters not only helps maintain hydraulic oil in optimal condition, ensuring smooth operation of the equipment and meeting accuracy requirements during operation but also makes it easier to achieve and maintain optimal casting conditions. Typically, filters for die-casting machine equipment should be replaced every 6 months, and for machines operating continuously 24 hours, replacement is recommended approximately every 3 months.

 

How to determine if the filter needs replacement?

In general, inspecting hydraulic oil for pH levels (acidity and alkalinity), color changes, viscosity, etc., can provide insights. Additionally, visual inspection of the filter’s appearance can help in making judgments.
